Well, that's the $64,000 question and I will admit it isn't easy. But since I can't read minds I take the position that unless they give me reason to beleive they are NOT serious (i.e. something in the context, past history of the speaker, etc.), I assume they are serious.

Which is indeed the problem. The likes of Coulter merely spout slogans to fire up a mindless base--see Jennineianine Garglcumafloro--see what I did there?--and others on both sides. They have too much to lose--$$$--to actually act.

But you never know.

Precisely, but they encourage others. And therein is a bow to 1938. Same method, same statement, same claims, and its starting to look like the same results.

When were you first diagnosed as clinically insane? DSM-1 or earlier?

Can't reply to the facts, attack the messenger instead.

Please show your formal professional qualifications for your diagnosis, or admit you've nothing but a little 'g'.

That sounds like envy, Hammy. So odd.

Except that the current administration is not, to anyone's knowledge and against all appearances, engaged in systematic, state-sponsored vandalism, looting, destruction of property, and mass arrests of targeted ethnic groups. Likening police action in quelling a protest that was becoming violent with the Nazi attacks against Jews in November 1938 is an incorrect, inappropriate, and infantile approach that leads nowhere but under the same old troll bridge.

Regarding November 9-10, 1938, "Illustrations of it thoughtlessly omitted by the advertiser:

Even you know the difference. You are acting far beneath your intelligence.

It's the next administration I'm worried about, Pyrrho, and they are using the same methods to get into power over the future of the people who vote for them.

We're just seeing the start. You do know, the isolated incidents that start the flood... Or did you miss sociology 101?

The next administration will be either Democrat or Republican. Methods of repression and oppression are universal. The police action mentioned in the OP is not representative of what the Nazis perpetrated in the 1930's and 1940's.

Slippery Slope Fallacy.

Pyrrho, I know you hope for that, but I think we need more than hope now.

Sounds like the war on drugs. Or, y'know, war itself. :P

Though on a serious note, the way executive power has been increasing towards "kill any sumbitch we don't like and fuck checks 'n balances" . . .
It's "pea-can", man.

Lapis Sells . . . But Who's Buying?

Nor was the previous Administration, nor the one before that, nor the one before than, nor the one before that, nor--I mean Poor Deluded Jimmy could not defend himself against a bunny!--et cetera.

We will add "history" to The Little Puppy's ever expanding list of things he proved too lazy to study, yet insufficiently honest to eschew pontificating in ignorance upon.
