MicroSD card died

Post by Pyrrho » Sun Apr 15, 2018 1:22 pm

Pining for the fjords, etc.

Seems to be really quite sincerely dead.

Oh well...have put it in the freezer for what the heck ever insane reason. Will try it again when it's chilled.

If I can get it to work I just want the photos off it.

Other authorities recommend baking at 240 degrees.

I just can't see how extremes of temp are going to help you out here Pyrrho. After all, this things got no moving parts which might be temporarily realigned by large temp swings long enough for one last read cycle.

Fucker's broke. Sorry about the pics.

Cycle 240deg for 2.5 hours, freezer for 2.5 hours.
Repeat for 10 cycles.

Once started the treatment has to been concluded in one take. No breaks.

Let me know how it goes.

Tried it in a few different devices? I've found that Windoze 10 sometimes fails to recognise cards when other OSs will.

Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

Do you have a way of getting rid (permanently) of all the games and other stupid bullshit? (Bloatware)?? I've heard it's possible, but my former IT guy says he could never get it to work. Shit always came back with the next update.

Not me personally, I still run 7 Ultimate. Which has always performed flawlessly almost as good as Docs Mac.

AFAIKT, there are no games on my machines (apart from Spider solitaire which I dragged in from XP). Microsoft also seems to have largely given up on reinstalling deleted stuff.

It could be someone was talking about the bloatware some manufacturer puts on new machines, rather than Microsoft. Which they could just as easily do with Windows 7.
