Gun-toting Olympians forced to leave London early, banned from social media, for posting a photo of themselves holding firearms at a California gun range:

The Australian swim duo who posed with guns at a California shooting range and posted the photo to Facebook will be forced to leave the Olympics after the swimming competition ends on the second Sunday of the Summer Games. Nick D'Arcy and Kenrick Monk are also banned from using social media for a month-long period beginning July 16 as part of the punishment stemming from the controversial photograph.

The money quote from the article is missing. I'm assuming this is what ed and abdul are balking at.

Doc X chimed in with another example of controversy. His closing comment demonstrated perfectly why the Olympic officials kneejerk as they do. They want to keep the Doc X's of the world watching.

Of course, making the punishment of the athletes public causes far more debate than the gun photo ever would. We wouldn't know of either if they hadn't kneejerked. Now I won't watch it because of this.
