First "Don't Feed the Trolls" thread

Post by Pyrrho » Sat Jun 12, 2004 12:56 pm

Don't feed the trolls.

Of course, a "don't feed the trolls" thread does, in fact, feed trolls. Even the statement, "Don't feed the trolls", feeds trolls. This is why trolls grow fat and happy and never leave.

You think these people are trolls? Let an old veteran of fantasy role-playing games tell you: These people are no trolls. At most, they are hobgoblins. More likely, just kobolds. :D

Bleh! If kobolds are anything like what they are in Warcraft 3, I heartly agree with this statement!

I dunno...they do seem to regenerate fairly quickly. If they aren't trolls, then they're at least orcs, 'cause there are so many of 'em, and they stink.

Feeding trolls is never a good idea, but it's sometimes done automatically, without thinking.

Pyrrho may have never heard about modern trolls, they live in blocks ,and they have showers, they even occasionally use them, let's say at least three times a week...not too often still, but too often isn't too good for hair growing

How unkind... how can you insult the noble orcs?

Feeding the trolls is human nature.

You can ignore the trolls. You can get your friends to ignore the trolls. You can get the guy down the street to ignore the trolls.

However, there will always be someone who has to respond and feed the troll.

You can start reprogramming your behavior by not feeding the evil dog that lives inside. :)

It's an old story, often attributed to American Indian folklore.

Each of us has two dogs living inside his mind. One is positive and full of compassion and self-discipline. The other is negative and pays no mind to compassion or discipline. Feed the positive dog and deny food and water to the negative dog and you will see a difference.

I have the theory that as your negative dog gets skinnier and more hungry he may burst out in anger and demand food. It takes a strong positive dog to overcome the pressure to give in.

Yeah, but keep that up and sooner or later you'll have a dead dog inside you. Uck.

I thought that only happened when one eats "chicken" McNuggets.
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

I have found the positive dog, even when weakened almost to the point of dying, is unbelievably strong.

Yeah, well, what the hell. Bump. Heheheheheheheheheh.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
