The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

https://wwmt.com/news/nation-world/port ... -mans-home
Over the past year or so, one man built all of it in some woods off Airport Way near Northeast 138th Avenue. A two-story wooden compound with a kitchen, bedrooms and even a walk-in closet. The home is complete with vinyl windows, standard sized doors, solar power and, of course, a doorbell.

The man who built it only wants to go by the name Mikey. When asked why he built it, he simply said, “Somewhere to live. I hate tents.”

But there is nothing simple about Mikey’s “house.” Prior to its demolition he allowed us to tour his home. The rooftop decks (2) are reached by stairs that were carefully and creatively cut from wooden wire spools. It is fully furnished with several couches, chairs, side tables and coffee tables. A clock hangs, where a clock would hang. He even has fire extinguishers. Mikey estimates the total home size at 2,500 square feet.

“It is like normal living without plumbing,” Mikey said.

↑ I'm sure the acoustics are fabulous. :)

(Which reminded me of a stay in Lesbos, of all places, in a third-rate hotel with the window opening on a small inner courtyard and a lady somewhere having a very noisy, albeit pleasant, night…)

I can also see laundry hanging out a few windows. People aren't actually living in those, are they ?

Thank you so much, Witness. My fantasy of running away to Svalbard was all but dead, but this renews it. Now I know there is at least one interesting hot babe that lives in a cozy cabin and knows how to defend herself. I wonder if she gets lonely. No, don't tell me. I'll just keep that a fantasy. I need hope, Witness. Just one tiny drop of hope to get me through the day. :rain:
