Another plane missing. A Malaysian airline, but a different one this time:

Update, Dec. 28, 2014: More than 15 hours after Flight QZ8501 dropped off the radar, there was still no sign of the AirAsia Indonesia jet that disappeared over the Java Sea on Sunday. The plane was traveling from Surabaya, which is Indonesia’s second-largest city, to Singapore. When night fell most of the search-and-rescue teams were pulled back, although some boats were still in the area, reports Reuters.

CNN is trying to revive the hype from the last one, but no one is feeling it.
Was hoping to hear an aviation expert slam down their fist and say look we just don't fucking know, alright! So take your vans with the little satellite dishes and go harass someone else. Don't call us. We'll call you.
Such potential!

Pieces wash ashore.
Debris from missing flight Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 washed up on the shores of Reunion three months before a wing flap was discovered on the remote island, it has been claimed.
Two residents said they spotted suitcases and a 'plane seat' in May, but did not think anything of their discoveries until the wing flap - believed to be from the doomed jet - was found on Wednesday.
One man said he believed the items were just 'pieces of rubbish' but now thinks he might have found 'many things that belonged to the plane' without realising.

As per Le Monde (
http://www.lemonde.fr/international/art ... _3210.html) it is now confirmed that the wing part comes from MH370. (Found some registration number with an endoscope.)
Floated just under the surface, and stayed more than a year in the sea, never getting into waters under 18 °C (from the barnacles), which should help in trying to backtrace.

Did MH370 pilot try and deceive radar operators?
The Independent Group, the leading non-government analysis team looking into the disappearance of MH370 has found that the Boeing 777s flight path near Penang was consistent with a navigation system that is fully operational and that it is possible that elements of the flight path near Penang were chosen to deceive radar operators into believing that the aircraft had an intention to land.
