I had vaguely remembered My Favorite Martian.
And of course like nearly all network sitcoms of that era, it was supposed to be fairly bland and inoffensive, which is how I recall it.

Well here's the first episode (best viewed full screen).

Good Lord that shit wouldn't fly today. :o

Ooooohhh Snap!

I 'member "My Favorite Martian" and not just vaguely because I'm older and wiser than AA. Even as a kid, watching it on a black and white (monochromatic to you plebes) Zenith TV set, I knew it was shit. We were all just hanging out waiting for Teh Orange Fucktard to save us from a death by monotony.

The real fun back in the day on that 21 inch screen was Jewboys' 'Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea', which they seemed to find in just about every stupid fucking episode.

"Time Kegel' was another one from that pissant that was mildly amusing. I have them all on DVD. They remain mildly amusing. Like Doc's Mom.
You can lead them to knowledge, but you can't make them think.

No people of color.

Not even the Martian, which as anyone knows should have green skin and be short of stature.

They white-washed Martians!!

DC Comics had Martians of color in that era.

They always were LIBBERULz. 8)

I half-interestedly clicked on the video. It definitely got more interesting around 2:24.

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

It would be immodest for a woman, especially for a suffragette, to ride a scooter sitting down. 8)
