It measures 615 ft long and 510 ft wide. So ... opps. About twice that big.

Even in Roman days, the coliseum wasn’t the most colossal. IIRC (false modesty) the coliseum had a capacity of 70,000 while the circus Maximus had a capacity of 250,000.

70,000 is not too shabby. That's more than most Major League Baseball stadiums hold.

It’s not too shabby, but it is named “the coliseum” not the “not too shabby”!

I think 50k is a better bet. Yankee Stadium is the best fit.

You don't need a whole lot of room for wild beast fights.

We should bring that competition back. Football just doesn't get it.

Use death row inmates. Fight to the death. Freedom and 100K to the winner.

Sure, you're all saying that would be inhumane but I bet you'd all watch. I would.

Option to winners to come back.
As of June 20, 2019, there were 2,635 death row inmates in the United States.
That's 1300 exhibitions. Sure, there are pussies but they'll come around. I think we can make the death penalty profitable.

Seneca, I think, strongly condemned the bloody spectacles but admitted he couldn't resist their appeal.

There were games in the morning and in the afternoon, but ordinary executions were held during the break. While the remaining spectators had their sammiches, I presume. Pre-bleating Christian times Romans were hardened. :P

Another "past is a foreign country" detail about that episode of I Spy. I just realized.

It's a full uncut episode complete with end titles. You can spot where the commercial breaks come in by the pacing.

51 minutes. That means one hour with only nine minutes of ads (and a station ID).

Bullet Bra: The Indispensable Underwear for the Sweater Girls in the 1940s and 1950s

Bullet Bra is a full-support bra with cups in the shape of a paraboloid with its axis perpendicular to the breast. The bullet bra usually features concentric circles or spirals of decorative stitching centred on the nipples.

Invented in the late-1940s, they became popular in the 1950s, and worn by the Sweater Girl, a busty and wholesome "girl next door" whose tight-fitting outergarments accentuated her artificially enhanced curves.
