The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

The choice of scales is questionable, but it provokes thought (sort of), so I guess it goes here.

When an island gets too big, they call it a continent. Examples are Australia and Antarctica. Or if you want a *really* big island why not the Americas, or Asia-Africa-Europe.

It's a bit like the competition for biggest village - where last year's winner gets reclassified as a town and is no longer eligible.

It does seem a bit arbitrary. I live on Honshu, which is an island, but it doesn't really feel like an island.

I'm not sure what it means "feel like" an island? Like a tropical paradise?

Does Rikers Island feel like an island? :BigGrin3:

I live on the island of Great Britain, but I'm about a hundred miles from the sea, so it doesn't feel that much like an island. :-|
