This is one of the ones where I wish they'd put the units in Kelvin.

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

What is that from?

It looks very paranoid-schizophrenic to me.

I'm getting the sense that increased health spending cannot make up for poor habits.

Increased spending means someone somewhere is making a helluva profit, poor habits be damned. I suspect our poor habits are on par with all those other countries, except for Japan where it's well known they eat radioactive fish heads and weeds. :)

Not a fan of the game and so know nothing about it. So what changed that gives this result?

Make it like punch ball as I played it when I was a kid, except using bats and other regulation baseball equipment.

No pitcher all all. The player at bat throws the ball up in the air and tries to hit it on the way down.

Any non-hit is a strike. No base on balls etc.

Anything like a foul tip is a hit unless someone catches it before the runner makes first base.

When I was a kid, the number of players on the field depended on how many showed up, but I'm sure that could be regularized for professional play.

All I can say is, we sure had a lot of home runs.

Isn't that what fans like? Lots of home runs? :BigGrin3:

Better screening for corked bats.

That's a bit cynical. I prefer to pretend that pitching limits have been reached and hitters limits haven't quite.

Or fewer cork bats.

How about if we get some hitters who choke up on the bat and hit more singles and doubles, instead of swinging for the fucking fences every time?

Also, how about we get some hitters who have a better eye and don't swing at every fucking slider in the dirt.

That's probably it. Strikeouts are up, but so are home runs. Singles are down.

I also wonder about strike zones.
