How about the clip-on? 
I think I use the first one on that list. I've got a longish torso and ties tend to be too short on me when I try to tie a fancy knot. They take up too much fabric and leave me with a tie that doesn't hang down far enough.

I'm not even sure if I still have a tie somewhere. But I have bowties: they are cool and can't be taken seriously.

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
