Is that significant? Not really clear that there is a bias there.

I see it as an informative graph of the bias itself rather than information about its manifest content.

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

For males at least, I'm guessing this measures increasing honesty rather than increasing being one of those.

↑ My thought exactly. Since many decades all the polls, studies, &c., show numbers oscillating between 5 and 10%.

Or has it become fashionable?

Fashionable enough that straight men claim to be gay? I doubt it.

Dr Kinsey said 10%, which sort of had the authority of inerrant scripture among gay men for a while, but it is now pretty much understood that Kinsey had bad methodology including that he diagnosed "degrees of homosexuality".

As far as the above graph is concerned, all the male figures both high and low "sound about right" to me, but that's impressionistic rather scientific.

I have often reflected that lesbians are not the "female equivalent" as the old phrase had it.

A-OK to lump lesbians and gay men together as a convenient political alliance against common enemies, but as an understanding of what people are like not so much.

As long as we're on "gender" issues, here's the latest taxonomy of misogyny in Venn diagram form.

Having had (and have) a lot (for a straight guy) of gay male and female friends I will say to you that gay males are a hell of a lot more fun and generally less fucked up in the head than the lesbians. A point shared by my gay male friends. We did take a gay female couple to a rodeo.

Don't ask. :D

Like the George Reeves' interpretation of Superman.

George Reeves was a slightly overweight middle aged guy at the time. But so what.

He's "super" because he's Kryptonian, not because he had a great build like Christopher Reeve.

George, no. Leonore Lemmon did it.
Christopher, no. Not capable.
