Now, that is a thing of beauty.

Such a work of art would be spoiled, however, (IMHO) by the addition of a spray dodger. Yet, when you're out in the middle of it with sun/rain and wind, you occasionally like to get out of the direct brunt of it. But a dodger would spoil those beautiful lines to be sure.

Perhaps I could have been more clear that I agree with your observations about keel design. In the video we were discussing, the question I was attempting to answer was "which has a bigger effect, length or keel?" I was lobbying for an old rule of thumb, that in most cases bigger seems to be better, even when other things are not equal (such as keels). I could be wrong. Too often I forget that this is not a debating contest and you are not my enemy. Sorry.

IMHO, we get to the truth by debating things. Few of us are doing hard science except Bruce. And debate is the next best method, seems to me. But debate is fraught with this pesky thing called language. If we live long enough, it fucks us all sooner or later.

Beautiful. But is that a yawl or ketch? And what's up with the rigging at the top of the mainmast? Xoup will know. I can't remember where I've seen that or what it's called. Gaff rigged something or other methinks.

Wikipedia calls it a 4-masted barque. I'm not an expert on the proper nomenclature for sailing ships.

My comment was in response to your post regarding the red sails with the white topsail. But I took too long trying to do some Googling and Anax posted before I could. We temporarily got lost there.
