Toothpick?
Nope.
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

You bastard. Give me the prize!!!
You got off lightly. I just blew the whistle and nearly deafened myself.

I always wondered why "Grandpa Wales" was hard of hearing. :)

Yup. It belonged to my great Aunt, Hettie, who believed that pushing back the cuticles was the mark of a lady. Now, tell me what it's made from and where? It appears to be made from some faux pearl material in an art deco style.

I'd guess horn and france. They used horn for all sorts of crap back then. eta. they would wet it then it could be moulded. It was used for pistol grips a lot.

There was also a substance called pearlite, I think, it was used for handles of cutlery. Gave a certain Downton look to the most humble abode. It doesnt look shiny enough for that though.

That would fit. My great uncle, Tom, served as a soldier in France during WW1 and sent stuff home to his beloved wife. :)

Interesting. I first thought of the similar paper folder:

But they are larger, and usually made of bone. :dunno:

Provide a scale, AC.

Some years ago I got a bit involved with the cannon shooting fraternity, There is an annual shoot at Camp Greyling in Michigan. Anyway, I got my son on a team that shot an 8" siege mortar. Thats him in red pulling the lanyard. You sort of pull it and pirouette so that your back is to the thing when it goes off. Point is that you can feel the concussion from 50 yards away.
