pideme

Post by xouper » Sun Feb 17, 2019 2:51 pm

I was playing Jumble the other day and one of the scrambled group of letters was "pideme".*

Seems like pideme should be a real word.
I like the sound of it. Rolls off the tongue rather smoothly.
But I can't seem to come up with a clever definition.
This is the best I have so far:

pideme: (verb) pay me, dammit. Etymology: A portmanteau of the Turkish pide and "me", as in "give me the bread".

Not to be confused with this one:

pideme: (verb) ask me for. Etymology: From the Spanish pideme.

Any suggestions?
