The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Looks like a '73 or so. I had one. I loved that car. The starter failed but I didn't care enough to replace it; it was easy to push-start. That black cover on the engine hood is not factory-installed but [had to be] added aftermarket by anyone that wanted to start their car in the rain: the vent it covered allowed rainwater to pour into the engine compartment directly on the distributor.
