The utter and complete humiliation thread.

Post by sparks »

As much as it pains me to admit this: Rob is correct about Arthur C. Clarke. Lot's of rumors, no charges apparently.

But you're still a dick Rob. :P Just not as big a dick as me. You have my apologies, if that's worth anything.

Might work for the Klingons but when I'm wrong and attach a raving screed to it as well, an apology is mandatory.

We like you anyway, Sparky! :)

On a more serious (?!?) note, you seem more bloodthirsty these days than usual. Everything's okay?

Thanks for asking. Short answer is no. Very little is OK with me right now. Short version is that I just recently came very close to a pump melt-down. One main cardiac artery was down to about 10% capacity. 24 hours (less, actually) later and I've got a couple of pieces of wire planted in there. All should be fine, but the meds fuck with a person mightily and I'm deeply into the "Goddamnit all to hell, this was NOT supposed to happen to the greatness which is ME!!!" mode.

Thanks for the heads up on my shitty attitude. I'd noticed it myself and am attempting to get a bit more centered. Heroin should do the trick. :) I wonder if my insurance will pay for that?

ETA: More cats in my life will fix just about all of this. I've just got to get down to my local shelter and figure out which two of the poor creatures are going to be stuck with me for the rest of their short lives.

Sure, and it will cost you less than a vial of insulin.

If it were anyone other than you Pyrrho, I'd ask for evidences. :) But it is the USA!USA!USA! and that sounds just ass-backwards enough to be true.

Well actually...

https://www.rehabcenter.net/the-average ... he-street/
Heroin
Heroin is an opioid most commonly taken intravenously. This highly addictive drug gives the user a feeling of euphoria which sends the user into a trance-like state. Heroin is most commonly sold as a powder and is increasingly popular. The cost and consumption of heroin can be broken down with a few statistics:

The average cost of heroin is $15-20 for a single dose (0.1g).
A heroin user with heavy tolerance may spend upwards of $200 every day to maintain their addiction.
The effects of heroin can be felt for 2-6 hours, peaking at 2 hours.

Reminded me of a childhood friend's father, late stage of cancer in spite of radiation therapy. Health insurance wanted to know why he needed the treatment, so he answered "to get a tan".
