Really not into toy trains, though I did fancy your slot cars video.
Sadly, the slot cars had to go to preserve some semblance of marital harmony. I flogged them on Ebay to some guy in South Africa for about twice what I paid.
Nowt so queer as folk.
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.
Aaand, how could an Abdul Alhazred Appreciation Thread be complete without Mornington Crescent?

I believe that is the proper response to Mornington Crescent.

I had a shit-ton of Scalextric track plus lots of cars and other accessories. I foolishly gave it all to my nephew who never used it much and then threw it away, or sold it - I'm not sure which.
I should have learned my lesson, but years later, when my dad died, I gave the same nephew my dad's Honda C50 motorbike - which was in great shape. My nephew soon scrapped it. Those C50s are really collectable now, and getting to be worth a load of money. I wish now I'd kept it for myself.
This is a McKeen Motorcar. A little gas-powered "train" car that carried passengers on short runs back in the day. I saw one today (there is a fully restored one in the Carson City railroad museum) and thought AA might get a kick out of it.
Sorry, Abdul, I got confused (and didn't pay enough attention): when using Imgur directly, the link comes with the tags added; when using the Firefox add-on to upload to Imgur, the link in the clipboard is "naked", as you say, and I (usually) add the tags myself.

I'm not totally sure if Abdul will appreciate this non-train-related (but tran-related) content but I thought it was interesting and I couldn't think of a better thread to put this in.
Anyway, this is ContraPoints:
I discovered this about a week ago. ("Discovered") well of course I didn't discover it. I'm probably quite late in learning about it and the very cool people, including Abdul, are already on to something else.
Anyway, I've already watched several of her videos this last week, but this one seemed like a good place to start.

How can you appreciate a person who drives potential new folks away?
How ay scalps on his belt?
Here is a candid shot of Abdul eyeing prospective members and figuring out the best combination of abuse and condescention to make sure they do not return.
Nope. Unless you recognize engine 4012, the "Spirit of Healy".
Just something I saw on reddit pics. Supposedly a "photobombing" although I doubt the timing was a coincidence. The engineer deciding to wave for the camera might have been a bit of good luck.
