So many things that piss me off.

Why can't I find oatmeal cookies without raisins?

Chocolate chip style cookies without the chocolate chips? No, not sugar cookies. Fuck you.

Banana nut bread without the nuts?

Butter pecan icecream without the pecans?

Any type of bread without sweeteners? I finally gave up and now make my own bread. Its awesome and tastes like bread.

There's more, so much more. There will never be world peace unless we start taking care of all the minor infuriating things too cause they add up.
Why are stores and bakeries so shit near you that those are not an option?

I spent two years there one afternoon. Only good thing I remember: American Joes in Back Bay. Best fucking chowder ever.

Is that pumpernickel?

I've recently discovered a hidden talent in making bread. I'm not much into cooking, but I really enjoy mixing and kneading bead dough. I'm going to start experimenting with various recipes. Will probably try sourdough next.

Haven't been there.

Folks from outside of Mass always rave about the chowder. I don't know. Take out the rubber band bits and add biscuits, you pretty much have biscuits and gravy.

Strangely, you can't find clam chowder in Ohio and you can't find biscuits and gravy in Mass (except for Crackerbarrel but that's cheating) though they are only separated by one state that's not really worth mentioning.

No, it's traditional rye bread from Wallis. Perfect for cheese & a hearty dried sausage. (Austrian style you'll add raw onion and some red wine, of course.)

Breakfast variant: toast a slice, let some butter melt on it and add honey.

Pumpernickel, made from rye too, is darker, softer, moister, sweeter and slightly acidic. (If I recall correctly, traditionally it isn't baked but cooked in a mold in a boiling water bath.)
Alas only sold here as pre-cut slices.

Ideal with smoked fish, cod liver, caviar, &c. Add a dollop of sour cream and some dill:

As you've said, you're a chemist. Now drop your soul-eating job and start a bakery!

Isn't the best thing in making bread the smell when you open the oven?

If my future batches turn out just a good or better than my first two, there might just be a Bruce's Bakery in the future.

Alcohol-free beer that still gets me drunk. A chemist should be able to sort that out.
Just add LSD.

Don't ask me how, but I know a thing or two about LSD.

Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.
