If you remember Robert Lancaster from JREF/ISF...

Post by shemp » Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:27 am

Some of you probably remember Robert Lancaster from JREF/ISF. He operated the StopSylvia site where he educated people about the fraudulence of Sylvia Browne. He also appeared at several of The Amazing Meetings that JREF held.

Several years ago he had a massive stroke, and has spent years recovering from it. Unfortunately, he recently took a turn for the worse, and he's now in hospice care and not expected to have much longer.

There's a thread over at ISF where people are remembering him and putting together a card to send to him in appreciation of his life and all he's done. I know that, like me, some of you still post over there, and others of you may still have a working account there. Please take a few minutes to drop by and say a few words. The thread is http://www.internationalskeptics.com/fo ... p?t=337747. Thank you.

Fuck

I don’t post at ISF, but am Facebook Friends with him. Was wondering why I hadn’t seen him in a while.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, shemp. I'm not a member at ISF but if you could pass on my best wishes to him and Susan I'd be much obliged. Robert's a lovely guy.
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

Ah well, Mr. Lancaster is, as Mark Twain would put it, "deserving of a kindlier fate." Best wishes to him and to his family.

I remember Clause being somehow against him. So I'm for him. No account to express such. So pass it along.

I'm sorry to say that Robert Lancaster died today, passing away peacefully in his sleep. Rest in peace Robert.

Sad day, I had a lot of respect for him.

Say, did he have an account here? There is a duty to be performed.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"
