When you see a name that's funny or unfortunate, post it here.

Yeah.

You can understand how some from foreign languages will be "funny" in English. The others?

Me Sis worked under an idiot whose last name is "Baka." She noted that a colleague who knew Japanese would always address him formally as "Mr. Baka" rather than his first name. The pompous ass would compliment him on how respectful he was, unlike all of the others.

My Japanese friends admitted they found this amusing.

WOKKETU NUUZU!!1! noted how a family decided to name their daughter "Water Child." As you know, "ko" [子 – Ed.] is a near ubiquitous ending for a girl's first name. "Mizuko" [水子 – Ed.] even sounds nice. My auto-kanji-cheat-addon immediately reveals "the problem." According to the story, an Old Dude at the registry thought it looked suspicious, hit his dictionary, and informed the parents why they cannot name her that.
水子 = "abortion."
