Local Eccentrics

Post by Nyarlathotep »

Every community has it's well known (at least locally well known) eccentrics. Neighborhood weirdos. Not necessarily creepy or anything, but the people that have odd habits and everyone in the town/neighborhood/whatever recognizes them. I am just curious about some of the ones where the rest of you live. For a long time we had this guy

He was a nice guy. Harmless, literally just liked to walk between Carson and Reno (about 30 odd miles) waving at all the cars as they passed. Died a couple of years ago. Got an obituary and everything.

What local weirdos do the rest of you have? or ARE you the local weirdo.

Kind of like if you can't spot the sucker in the room.

Nice guy, he flew kites in Piedmont park with us for a bit.

I assume the local eccentric in Florida is the guy who ISN"T sticking his penis in a hornet nest while asking passersby to hold his beer.

Used to have a guy who would stand at the corner of a busy intersection near the local grocery store, blowing a whistle and directing traffic.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
