Although, I suspect if you were to actually provide a direct phone number, you might detect a trace of a west African accent.

Occasionally, I'll watch scambaiting videos on YouTube just for fun.

I have several favorites. One involved an elaborate fake automated phone system for collection of the money order confirmation number. They had it set up to make the scammer go through various hurdles and then, just as he was about to collect the number, it would go to static or, even better, sometimes Spanish. Then the scammer would have to start from zero again. (Ha! Ha!)

Another one had several baiters working together pretending to be corrupt Western Union workers who would get on the phone with the scammer and then try to get them to give a cut of the money. (Ha! Ha!) Then, regardless of what percentage they'd agreed on, they'd pretend to steal all the money. (Ha! Ha!)
