Items:

Tarot presented as non-fiction.
Tarot presented as medicine.
Paragraph 4 repeated as Paragraph 11, aka padding.
Forged Message-ID header.
Return-Path and From line not connected with Received header nor return address in body of message.
Date header forged to 12 hours prior to Received header.
Forged headers claim USA origin, while Received header shows origin at a router in Petach Tikva, Israel.

I'm tempted to write back from a scratch address to build up a sort of trust and then, by the by, ask whether the author can ... bend metal or make compasses move with his mind. Seems to me that an author who has to resort to spam to move an unpublished manuscript is pretty much washed up. Not even British footie teams want him on their side. Well, heck, I have music to make. Anybody want to play with him, be my guest, but then, please keep us informed of the entertaining parts.

Evidently, the guy has difficulty distinguishing fiction from non-fiction.

Playing with him? Nyah. Can't be bothered.

If somebody should be feeling nice, could you explain to me what that means exactly and how you know?

I'd be very interested, I get dodgy mail like this all the time sent to my website mail addy.

In the Message-ID one, the message-ID authority--the part after the @ sign--is not the domain identified by DNS on my end in the Received header. Ergo: forgery.
In the Return-Path header, the return domain is email.com; in the From header, the sender's address is at email.com. The sender tried to tell my system that it was sandshrew.XMEN.local, but one time, the spam REALLY came from il.comcast.net [67.184.199.59], and the other time, the spam REALLY came from bezeqint.net [84.108.185.60]. The spammer has connections both in Illinois (il.comcast.net) and Israel (bezeqint.net).
The timestamps come in 24-hour time, followed by a displacement + or - relative to Greenwich time (e.g. +0100 for the time zone east of Greenwich, or -0500 for the fifth time zone west of Greenwich... Daylight savings and half-time-zones like Newfoundland complicate things a little bit, but not much). On the average, it takes about 2 minutes for an e-mail to cross the internet. So, the sending system's timestamp and the receiving system's timestamp, mapped to Greenwich time, should be within 5 minutes of each other. If they're 8 hours apart, the sender forged the sending timestamp in an attempt to distract attention away from the logs on the sending system at the true sending time.

Thankyou :)

Wow at the sender. That seems like an awful lot of bother to go to when the properties show it up for what it really is!
I'm going to be looking at all mine from now on, just because I can.
