I checked headers. This asshole had a reply-to personnoffice201@aol.com and return path kuddles664@aol.com

The first address entered into Google led to http://scamoftheday.com/wordpress/2011/ ... osition-2/ among a few other scambusting entries, so hopefully a would-be victim will Google the email address first. Someone doing what the scammer wants them to do could find themselves in a lot of trouble with the law and possibly face jail time. What's sad is that this targets people like me, as I'm fairly sure this guy got my email address from a forum for people with disabilities.

Employment scams usually work with money laundering (you receive actual money and are allowed to keep a portion of it in your account, before wiring it to another account) or fake checks/money orders. In this note he mentioned check and money order payment so I assume he will be using counterfeit checks or money orders to pay. You cash the fake check or money order, buy the stuff, send it off, lather rinse repeat until the bank figures out the check is a fraud, and you are responsible for the total amount plus whatever other fees the bank incurs, as well as a very real chance of prosecution.

Often, these types of scammers use mules to send out their phony checks and money orders--these folks actually get paid for their illegal activity, some of them know damn well what they're doing is illegal, and some of them are completely oblivious.
