This just arrived in my fax machine.

DIRECT FAX SURVEYS

4000 SAME-SEX MARRIAGES ANNULLED

DO YOU AGREE WITH
GEORGE W. BUSH THAT MARRIAGE SHOULD
ONLY BE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN?

[Huge box with "YES" in it] [Crappy picture of Bush] [Huge box with "NO" in it]

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE:

Last year President Bush called on Congress to amend the constitution to define marriage as [ ... big long paragraph decribing the issue in a nutshell ... ]
What should Congress about this issue in 2005?

Please check the appropriate box and the fax survey sheet to the number below

FAX TO: 1-900-388-7770

Calls to 1-900 numbers cost $3.95 a minute, a small price for a greater democracy. Calls take approx 2-3 minutes in standard mode. To be deleted please call 1-800-337-0069

The result of this nationwide survey will be presented to President Bush, Congress and the Supreme Court.

Direct Fax Surveys
29-31 Margaret Street, London W1N 7LB, UK.

-----

Atrocious formatting in the original, with the added bonus that everything was center-justified.

Um, yeah right. $3.95 a minute, with 2-3 minutes (probably more like 5) to send the fax?

I checked the Web. They don't have a domain name registered to them. Imagine that.

Yeah but Beleth (or her boss) has to pay for the paper. It's a fax.

The 900 number thing is particularly disturbing.

Considering the 900 number thing, could it be some homo trying to make money off YOU PEOPLE?

Also we're taking names for after WE WIN!

Better hide in the basement if you like the other sex.

Price for democracy--paid to a monarchy :)

A fax receiver doesn't have to use paper, it can store an image--or even discard the image, so long as it speaks the right signal protocols.

But fax is passe. Nowadays people use dialer software in spyware to make websurfers' modems connect with their 900-numbers.

Except it's a survey, so it's designed to get you whatever side of the spectrum you're on.

Pretty clever really.

Clever? Only a complete idiot would fall for this.

Which means they'll get rich.

Considering the religious right's penchant for sending in the horde (no disrepected intended to Quester, who is part of the "Horde", which is made up of undead, orcs, and other creatures much nicer than the religious right...) to skew survey results...sounds pretty profitible.

Someone fax that shit to the AFA!

Not really. :) I'm a WarCraft 3 fan, not WoW...

The Scourge is my favorite, while the Horde is for orcs, trolls, and tauren. The undead in WoW are the angsty rebel Forsaken, who are nowhere near as cool as the Lich King's forces.
