Met him but never played against him. He helped make chess come alive for many Americans.

I will say that agadmator is much better at this than he was a few years ago.

I couldn't see the killer move here, but it's a good one if you can find it

Probably in retrospect Nakamura's decision to castle queen side when he did, given the position was a big strategic blunder.

Spoiler:
Carissa Shiwen Yip (born September 10, 2003) is an American chess player. In September 2019, she was the top rated female player in the United States and the youngest female chess player to defeat a grandmaster, which she did at age ten. In October 2019, she became the youngest American woman in history to qualify for the title of International Master.
Spoiler:
And assuming you already watched the video, she just defeated the reigning world's women's champion. With the black pieces. At age 16. Not bad!

Hikaru Nakamura is a Youtuber now and he's pretty good at it too.

He's also on Twitch, but that's for the kids.

One of the best, maybe even the best at rapid formats like blitz. That's 3 minute time limit. It's chess at lightning speed, but he is able to explain what he's doing. I can't follow his explanation because my brain doesn't work at that speed, but it's still interesting to watch.

That was fucking impressive. I suppose Sergey figured it would be an easy win and played a well known opening fools-gambit only to gave it shoved up his ass.

On the other hand, the Cosmonauts have easy access to a few million petaflops of processing power back at Roscosmos on which to run an instance AlphaZero ... if they so chose ... not saying they would ...

Bizarre. A chess podcast with Agadmator and Hikaru was taken down, apparently by an algorithm, for reasons unknown.

It has been restored apparently, but it's still a mystery.

Chess is racist. Didn't you know that?

It might inspire a wave of lynchings.

This new approach is just the tip of a very very big iceberg. One that is poised to sink a lot of very big ships.
