So, for future reference, if any of you spot any errors in my writing style I grant you full permissions to point it out and tease me un-mercilessly. After all, that’s how my mother made me the man I am today.
un-mercilessly??????

Well, you did ask for it!

Thanks, that’s exactly what I’m talking about.

I originally wrote that without the hyphen but my spell checker choked on it. It looked right to me but I tried it with a hyphen and it accepted it.

I guess this is an example of when I should have trusted my own instincts (or at least looked it up).

I was going to pick on that word too until I went to dictionary.com and that is exactly how it is supposed to be spelled.

I think you meant "unmercifully", or "mercilessly".

Bingo. I got trapped in double negative world.

"Unmercifully" was the word I meant but either would have worked.

I am not ungrateful for your response. ;)

The not uninteresting part is that we all probably understood what you meant.

You like hyphens as much as I like commas. Are you a Muslim by any chance?

"Short-comings." Hmmmmm.

"Short-comings." Hmmmmm. Your "spell-checker" didn't catch that one?
