My website - wordpress.com

Post by Miles »

I founded a website in the summer of 2013 - in short, it is a website exploring the most notable controversies and conspiracy theories, including the Wakefield scandal, and the HAARP conspiracies. I include a full list of reputable sources from a variety of websites. I also have a fun little topic on ghosts. My most extensive article as of present is the topic on the Wakefield scandal. It does not have a large following, hence the handful of articles (which is not always limited to the subject of conspiracy theories and it is semi-personal). I will be accepting co-editors, feedback and suggestions.

Seems OK, but perhaps a bit boring. Those who need it won't bother to read, those who agree won't need to read.

Change the font color to a dark almost black color and make the font dark blue.

I agree with Hans. There's already a sea of skeptic and conspiracy theory debunking sites out there. What are you bringing to the table that the others don't? Once you can answer that question for yourself, you should have some direction for it. Meanwhile, you're preaching to the choir. And because I love mixing metaphors, why re-invent the wheel?

Concentrate on a few topics. Provide arguments (believers might read, skeptics might use), but it is difficult: Belivers don't want to be changed. If I knew the answer, I would be making my own website.

I would love to read a blog about specifically British woo. But that's perhaps not interesting for you.

The only thing I can think of at the top of my head is the Einfield Poltergeist, but that has been debunked pretty well at CSICOP (Committee for Skeptical Inquiry). Any suggestions on what I should cover that hasn't been debunked thoroughly?

I'm really the worst person you could ask, being completely ignorant on the subject – and that's precisely why I'd be interested to learn about it. 8)
Finding something new to debunk & doing it sounds like a lot of hard work. Perhaps it would be safer to simply start collecting "amusing British woo trivia", with good documents, and see how the readership reacts. If it works, somebody will sooner or later contribute new stuff.
As said, Limeys are a mystery to me, but you may get inspired by other "national" woos, e. g. French Kings were said to cure the "écrouelles" (scrofula) – and Wikipedia just taught me that it was also a gift of English monarchs –, or the Alps are said to be home to the fabulous "Tatzelwurm" (many "sightings"!):

Or something like that (still Royalty):

Ah, interesting. Perhaps I'll organise an article on cryptozoology. It could be somewhat science-related so I suppose I could go with it.

Where should I send the invoice for the advertisement?

Yes, see, here's the thing. One of the few rules here is "No spamming," which I take to mean "No advertising," and that includes your blog.

Pixy pays for this site. I don't see how we can allow advertising at his expense, even if it is for a blog.

Then again, people do have links to places in their signatures, so I am hung up on the difference. This is a bit beyond that.

Particularly since he is just a sock puppet of the Cunt Airwrecka.

Wonder when he will threaten to commit suicide . . . perhaps a poll or something.

The only thing of mine that will be committing suicide is the emptiness in my pockets. Best to study hard for a career that pays you an annual salary of £90,000 instead of ranting about other members like a feeble little child, hmm? Humans indeed so express primal emotions when confronted with those they consider to be their superiors, eliminating rational ability. You do spark my curiosity, I might add. Were you ever diagnosed with bipolar disorder?

Pyrrho, I will take the liberty in informing you that ''spamming'' and ''advertising'' are considered by the majority to be two different things.

spam
spam/Submit
verb
gerund or present participle: spamming
1.
send the same message indiscriminately to (a large numbers of Internet users).

advertising
ˈadvətʌɪzɪŋ/
noun
1.
the activity or profession of producing advertisements for commercial products or services.
"her father was in advertising"

I advise you clarify next time to prevent a repeat.

But I can.

Pretty damn obvious, but he outed himself a few times.

Keep him away from Tylenol . . . or not.

The subject mentions Tylenol. I am unfamiliar with this compound. Contacting the CIA, though current estimates suggest Doctor X is utilizing Tylenol as a method to ease his impulses.
