I own a Samsung Smart TV. I'm not sure if I'd buy one again. The "Smart" part of the TV is at best too flaky and unwieldy to rely upon and at worst locks up your tv every week or so 'updating' itself (the advertisements in the smart hub). I disconnected mine from the internet because of this

Today I'd buy a non-smart tv. Or perhaps a Roku tv. those are actually stable.

I'm not sure if I'd upgrade to a 4k box. My eyes can barely see in .25k. OTOH, the color palette of a 4k machine is glorious, even if the resolution is lost on me.

Was looking at a Samsung. We never go out, TV is out only window on the world so I was going to go large.. like 80". I really don't care for the "smart" features. Just want a TV that I can plug shit into and can stand an occasional trip to the freezer.

Samsung blu ray player here. It no longer plays blue ray disks after only a year. Not recommended.

Stick with Sony.

Nope. Except that I love and respect each and everyone of you fucking shmucks here and I don't want to see you waste your money.

Does that mean you'd buy it for or me as an early b-day present and then come down here and install it? I'll send the airboat to pick you up.

You're on! I'll have to arrange the vacation time, just let me know when. 80" is what you're looking for, right?
