Good.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

The sad thing is that he got away with it for so many years.

3 to 10 years. He is 81. Could be a life sentence.

Good.
I well remember that terrible old Lord Chief when I was first at the Bar. He gave an 86-year-old man fifteen years for persistent theft. At Bodmin Assizes. "But my Lord," the old man quavered, "I shall never do fifteen years." "Well then, my man," the Lord Chief encouraged him, "you must do as much of it as you can."

He goes on tour and does a gig with Louis C.K.

His fatuous lawyer reminded everyone about Jesus and how black people were lynched.

Because of course he did.

Huh. A 'political prisoner' like MLK, Gandhi and Mandela?

Once upon a time he was a very popular celebrity. But I guess it's easier to have a persecution fantasy/messiah complex/delusions of grandeur than to face the reality of what you did.

If he had a conscience and wasn't a sociopath he wouldn't have done it.

I seem to remember that he used to have a conscience, that he tried to help his community, but maybe that was all just part of the act.

It was.

People have a way of compartmentalizing morality. I would not be surprised if he felt, like Bill Clinton, that "what I did and who I am" somehow justifies what he did. Sort of like a "life perk."

His expression in that tweet I posted would mean something completely different if he was acknowledging his guilt and apologizing for it. Folks might actually believe that he was sorry for abusing women instead of being sorry that he got punished for it.

There's that compartmentalization again. I think he'd be able to spot that in a child's behavior (being sorry they got caught instead of sorry they hurt someone) with a fair degree of competence.
