As if there are not doctors who use guns, and may even be in NRA.

They are as entitled to their opinion as anyone else.

I wouldn't call it a "special interest" so much as political advocacy.

(If anything, a reduction in gunshot injuries would mean less business for doctors, not more.)

It's not like when you see the bail bond industry opposed to bail reform.

No one has disputed that.

People have disputed their claims to rightfully determining public policy as the experts on, well, anything really.

It's the "we're doctors, obey our favorite faction of the ruling class" controversy.

Since nearly all of the people who get shot are gangbangers and such without money and insurance or the ability to pay I doubt it's business they value.

As the old joke goes:

What's the difference between God and doctors?

A: God doesn't think he's a doctor.

If the last century taught us anything, it's that doctors and scientists can be mighty gullible when it comes to politics.

Sort of like what James Randi always said about such types and conjuring.

Is politics a form of conjuring? :coolspecs:

Doctors Slam NRA After Chicago Hospital Shooting

The logic fail is yuuuge in some of those anti-gun doctors. This particular hospital incident brings nothing new to the debate. The anti-gun doctors quoted in that article are still using all the same old flawed arguments and talking points. They really should stay in their lane.

Doctors using appeal-to-emotion to push quackery is sad.

Guns or not.
