Democrats are panicking over this...

Hmm.

I'd think the idea was to split the Trump vote (and that it wouldn't work).

Why are Democrats panicking?
How would adding an independent progressive split the Trump vote?

He's a progressive?

In any case, there will be left wing "spoiler" candidates though how important I do not know.

I think abdul misspoke [again]. It would split the liberal vote [almost] obviously. To what extent depends on how much he's willing to spend on publicity. He's not exactly an already known name. But neither was Ross Perot.

I just realized.

That's the Starbucks guy who tried to implement the "conversation on race".

Oops, wrong again.

Also I see over by DU that "everyone" hates him already.

Is Nader still alive?

Who does the DU crowd think can beat Trump?

He beat the entire political system as an outsider auteur.

Now he's the fucking incumbent.

I mean jesus goddamn christ, they need someone like a Howard Schultz to change the game completely. They had the ultimate player of the existing metagame as their last fucking candidate, and see how that turned out? With the entire media sans Fox co-ordinating with them, they couldn't beat an orange real estate developer!!! Do they not honestly realize how fucked they are right now?

Or do they go to bed easily each night murmuring "its okay, russian agent narrative will work, he's done" as if the last election wasn't projected at 92 percent to 8 percent.

They're making the Hillary mistake, underestimating how smart Trump really is beyond the public persona.

I still don't think they realize how rigged the entire system was against an outsider and how incredible it is that Trump actually won against the GOP primary challengers, Hillary, the media, the deep state, the GOP nevertrumpers, and a lot of influential mass entertainment.

In 2020, you can't get an edge by getting the media to trash Trump, they're already trashing him as hard as they can. All the "election cycle bullshit" gauges are already red-lined.

There is no "11" on this dial, it only goes to 10 and you're already there DNC. What do you fucking do now?

And DONT FUCKING SAY KAMALA

I guess they should just give up and embrace Trump then. Maybe we shouldn't even bother with any parties other than Republican.

No, it was sarcasm. I am just reacting to Corplinx' apparent indignation that the Dems should run a candidate against him. It seems that he is hostile to the very idea of the Dems running a candidate, any candidate at all.

Write in Nader.

I know even the Greenie Weenies don't like him, but Nader all the way.

Good old Ralph.

That wasn’t the interpretation I got from his post.

Nope. It was the "get your shit together DNC" post. If you held the election today between Schultz and Trump, I'd vote Schultz. I'd rather vote a complete unknown based on his resume rather than any of the clowns they have running now.

Another one I had to Google to figure out who she is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marianne_Williamson
Marianne Deborah Williamson (born July 8, 1952)[3] is an American spiritual teacher, author, lecturer, entrepreneur and activist. She has published twelve[4] books, including four New York Times number one bestsellers.[5] She is the founder of Project Angel Food, a volunteer food delivery program that serves homebound people with AIDS and other life challenging illnesses.[6] She is also the co-founder of The Peace Alliance, a nonprofit grassroots education and advocacy organization supporting peacebuilding projects.[7]
After graduating from Houston's Bellaire High School, Williamson put in two years studying theater and philosophy at Pomona College in Claremont, California[12] before dropping out in her Junior year and moving to New York City to pursue a career as a cabaret singer.[10][11][12] In 1979, Williamson returned to Houston, where she ran a metaphysical bookstore.[12]
She has been a guest on television programs such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, and Real Time with Bill Maher. In December 2006, a Newsweek magazine poll named her one of the fifty most influential baby boomers. Williamson bases her teaching and writing on a set of books called A Course in Miracles, a non-religious self-study program of spiritual psychotherapy, based on universal spiritual themes.[15]
2014 US House campaign

Williamson ran for the seat of California's 33rd congressional district in 2014. On her motivation for running, she has stated: “America has gone off the democratic rails. A toxic brew of shrinking civil liberties and expanded corporate influence are poisoning our democracy.“ Her core message was that “humanitarian values should replace economic values as the ordering principle of our civilization.”[37]

Prominent elected and public officials endorsed her campaign, including former Governors Jennifer Granholm and Jesse Ventura; former Congressmembers Dennis Kucinich and Alan Grayson; and Van Jones, among others.[38] Alanis Morissette wrote and performed her campaign theme song, entitled Today.[39]

She campaigned on a broad array of progressive issues, including: greater access to high-quality education and free college; child poverty; economic justice; climate change & renewable energy; campaign finance reform; universal health care; criminal justice reform; ending perpetual war and increasing investments in peacebuilding; women’s reproductive rights; and LGBTQ equality among others.[40][41][42]

She finished fourth out of 16 candidates[43] with 14,335 votes for 13.2% of the vote.
Political positions
Racial reconciliation

Williamson has been a public advocate in the arenas of racial justice and race relations. She is known for leading public apologies for slavery and has encouraged paying reparations for slavery.[47][48] Marianne has also worked in support of reforming our criminal justice system.[49]
Immigration

Williamson advocates for an open border immigration policy, stating that as long as individuals are vetted, they should be allowed to move to the United States.[50]
What a resume.

She'll be an also-ran.

But no. Can't beat the sumbitch by sinking to his level. That'll only compound the problems.
