During the late sixties I had a summer job in a computing center. The cards got punched (twice, to weed out typos – "punchos"?) by half a dozen charming young ladies, and the fashion du jour was:

It was a very hot summer


But what I really miss is the folding printing paper, with its alternate green lines; used it for years afterwards. :mrgreen:

I remember having to decollate two-foot stacks of multicopy continuous-feed paper as punishment for being late to work in the navy. After the first 5000 sheets it became more Zen than punishment.

Had to walk upstairs both ways in the crowds to get time on the punch machine and then had to stand in line to give the cards to the students who ran the mainframe.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
