I'd say it's short on memory. 4 GB isn't enough for W10/x64 + even just a browser (right now mine eats up 1.35GB…), so probably it swaps things to the HD. You could see that from some LED constantly flickering, or even hear it.

Add RAM if it's possible & worth it.

You are right, a cat could eat it and then what?

n.b. Rob basically told be that "it's ok". That lump under your arm? Normal. Put it in the freezer.

I am beginning to suspect that he doesn't have my back.

Note that a Metrician is the one that offered a constructive observation. What the fuck is the world coming to? Next thing he'll be asking me what the footprint of the machine is in mm.

Jesus.

Are you sure about that?

4GB isn't much for a 64 bit machine.....

Yes, it's 4GB max:

Time to upgrade, ed, that Presario is now worth ~ $100.

Holy fuck.

ed? Get a new/refurbished machine ASAP. 4GB is barely enough to run the frakkin' operating system. No wonder you've been having issues with that thing. Surprised it was ever certified to run W10.

Posted naughty stuff, ed? I see nothing:

Image

Corply had a suggestion some time ago: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45523&p=849706

I already had one of these (they are poor gamer's machines; I don't play games but photo & video need lots of RAM and some muscle). And am quite pleased, especially because it's extremely quiet (noticed one of my monitors has a slight hum  ) and has a removable second HD for cheap backups.

Presumably overkill for office work.

WTF are you on about? SSD? What the fuck is that? SS Deutchland? Are you a Nazi? come on.

I don't care about "reburbished" if Jeff says that it's ok cuz Jeff knows and you can trust Jeff.

Solid State Drive. Faster, but more expensive. 250 for that machine as is ain't bad ed. Don't listen to Rob, he's trying to poison you against nice things.

Wait...

Faster
Like time matters. Disk drives are a metaphor for life. They take their time to get to their desired end. Some rush to the final quietus, some tarry. Rob would see me rush. Rob is trying to kill me.

Wanker.
