There are some excellent nominations so far.

Let me toss three more on the pile.

Bob Dylan - Knocking on Heaven's Door (with Sheryl Crow) (Live)

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Mary Jane's Last Dance
Hollywood Bowl 9/25/2017 (Tom's last concert ever)

Dixie Chicks - Travelin' Soldier (Live)

That last one hits me hard. And that's all I'll say about it.

What's more depressing is realizing that some of the people who posted in this thread are no longer with us.

sadly that bit of weeny caption superimposed at the end of the last was something some censor somewhere added. It is not in any of the prints or the Japanese Original play. He gets away with it of course over "The Varsity Drag" from much earlier in the film with his child saying his first words: "I'm Jack! I'm Jack! I'm Jack" . . . or is it his child? Then the credits role.

Haven't heard any song more depressing since I wrote that.

Truly the national anthem of endless despair.
Depends how you look at it I guess.

I think of it as idealistic. Probably naively so, but I don't think it made me depressed.

I don't care much at all for this young goober Ed Sheerhan fella, but he has one song that gets me
One had two kids but lives alone
One's brother overdosed
One's already on his second wife
One's just barely getting by
But these people raised me and I can't wait to go home

And I'm on my way, I still remember
These old country lanes
When we did not know the answers
And I miss the way you make me feel, it's real
We watched the sunset over the castle on the hill
Ouch.

I had friends in high school that I've lost touch with who's lives fell apart in much worse ways. I wish I didn't know about it, but my mom and aunt were the town gossips for 30 years so I got a progress report on their lives every time I called home. Ugh. Thanks mom. I would have been perfectly happy remembering my high school friends as young, funny, spirited, hopeful kids with their whole lives ahead of them, and not know about the train wrecks they turned into.

I had a girlfriend for 4 years. High school sweetheart. Lasted 4 years and we never had sex. She was saving it for marriage. Ugh. She now has 7 kids. :BlowChunks:
Such potential!
