Anyone watching The Punisher?

Guilty pleasure. Also saw John Wick 2 the other day.

The plot is almost irrelevant for either of them. Just something to move it from one fight scene to the next.
Tried watching the Punisher. But Chani was triggered (and I mean that in the legit PTSD sense, not in the "I need a safe space" sense) by a scene where some guy blew out his brains (those scenes cut a little close to home for me too) and haven't been able to get back to it.

I watched a documentary on Netflix about the fuckery behind that "Fyre Festival" (The documentary was, imaginatively enough, called Fyre) that fell apart last year. Sounds like the organizer wasn't just some schlub who got in over his head, sounds like he was an out and out con-man. Anyway, interesting slow-motion disaster from day 1, so it's a good watch. My favorite part is watching the dumfuk try to pull another, similar, scam while on bail awaiting trial from the first one.

That is rough, I'm sorry. I'll try keeping this in mind when recommending stuff in the future.

On that note, I would recommend you avoid "Happy" on Netflix

My personal criticism is that it's a little overwritten, overshot, and overdramatized in the first episode.
Yes, [He is taking a "break" from New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox pornography.--Ed.] and it persists but it is so much closer to the Japanese Original TD it is refreshing. It is not as good, but what could be, but it is no where near as bad as the "second season."

Looks like the producers/writers decided to "go back to what was the point of the first series" rather than try to promote characters. That Guy from Cheers and That Other Guy from Dazed and Confused were so compelling, I think the second season figured they would hire B-Grade but successful actors and it would just work.

These characters are not as compelling, but they do a decent enough job. If TD the First of its Name is an "A" and TD of the Worst was an "F- with a Silent Q" then this is at least a B.

To put it more succinctly, I am not hate-watching it.

The second season of Star Trek: Discovery is much better than the first. I am enjoying it so far, whereas I merely tolerated it last season. Though the constant talk about Spock (Who is supposed to show up later in the season, played by Gregory Peck's grandson, Ethan) gets kind of annoying, it begins to sound like "Spock Spock Spock...blah blah blah...Spock...blah blah...Spock" after a while.

Other than that, pretty enjoyable.

I got The Expanse on Amazon Prime.

Spent the whole weekend binge watching Season 1. It was worth it.

Was starting to think maybe this was an adaption of the Metroid story line, which also began on Ceres and featured an energy craving life form, but alas.

I love how the Mormon are still around an doing their thing.
I've been waiting a long time for this to come to streaming services in Japan.

First two seasons were on Netflix for a while but I had already seen them. Netflix dropped it and now Amazon has picked it back up. Finally season 3 is available on Amazon in Japan. It's quite good.

The books are good as well.

There are some changes--some do not make sense--but--and this is no spoiler--Avasalla is that extraordinary in the books as well.

You know, for a show called The Umbrella Academy there is a distinct lack of umbrellas so far. Even in the scenes that have rain.

Hey, there's at least 1 umbrella in every opening scene.

I liked the show but it felt like a B- execution to me for most of the season.

I do give the show great credit of for using time travel in a way that doesn't fuck up the plot but advances it; that's very rare.

True Detective Season 3 is the "best" and most chilling simulator of dementia.

Almost done with Season 3 of The Expanse.

It's getting.....trippy. And I'm not really liking the new characters. Three more episodes to go. Hope they don't suck
