It is . . . a weird one.

They also restarted Blade Immortal. This was a fantastic manga for years. About a decade ago, they did a very good first run. As with a lot of very good series, they only made the one. I am surprised they restarted it years after the series ended. They do not recreate the incidents from the first series so it will be a bit confusing if you do not know the manga or original anime.

I'm finding the new Watchmen series quite good. It's too early to tell if HBO has an epic hit on their hands, but so far the production quality and acting is decent, and the writing is good at drawing you in. Gets to fill in a completely alternate history between 1985 and 2019. It knows what to hide from you and what to make clear. What to show and not tell.

Some of the original characters are still alive and have parts to play. Some are actually more interesting now than they used to be.

It's more a successor to the comic book than the movie, in the sense that it refers back to a giant alien squid thingy instead of Dr. Manhattan fake energy or whatever.

A new season of The Blacklist started. I think they are running out of twists they can throw in and combinations of "this character hates/distrusts/is angry at that character" but James Spader makes it all worthwhile, even if it is getting a bit lame. I think the series does need to end soon though, if they want to go out before it begins to suck. But I would count myself lucky if I could be half as cool as Raymond Reddington (Spader's character on the show)

Castle Rock season 2 is out, I am enjoying it.

The Good Place is about halfway through its final season and I am enjoying the hell out of it. Sad to see it go, but its the kind of show that has to resolve itself sooner or later, and like The Blacklist, it's going to run out of steam eventually.

Just logged into Amazon.co.jp and season 4 of The Expanse just dropped. So that's what I'll be watching.

I recently finished watching season 4 of Preacher (seems to be the final season, juding by how it ended). Anyone else like this?

I would definitely recommend at least trying it. It's a little silly, but it's got lots of original characters, some of whom are introduced in later seasons. All 4 seasons are out now, so you can watch it in its entirety.

Watched Klaus on Netflix.

I didn't expect to enjoy it, but wow. It was really enjoyable. Rare jem. It had an Emperor's New Groove vibe, complete with Warner Bros style zany slapstick. The animation was beautiful. Good stuff.
Such potential!

Preacher is awesome. I can't seem to get into The Expanse.

I have been really enjoying The Mandalorian. It's actually better Star Wars than the last five (soon to be six) movies.

Does he play the mandolin, or is he on a quest to find a wise old music teacher?

Does he ever take his mask off in later episodes?

I was wondering how that's supposed to work in practice. Particularly when it comes to eating, sleeping, bathing, brushing teeth, etc. I did see the first 3 episodes when I was visiting my brother in California, but haven't seen any after that. At one point they mentioned something about mandolorians never take their helmet off. :notsure:
