Is it more than a predictable "edgy" love story between two "misfit" emo kids who hate their shitty parents?

I started watching it, but I dunno. Halfway through the second episode I started thinking, you know I don't much care for either of these people. Also I thought I could see exactly where it was all leading. They'll have misadventures. They'll "grow" into better people. And they'll fall in love. Or maybe it's more like a Bonnie & Clyde story that will end tragically. Could go either way I suppose.

Watched Wind River on Netflix. A very well done slow burning murder mystery thriller set on a reservation in Wyoming. It' a depressing place but the land is very beautiful. Written and Directed by the same guy who wrote Sicario (and its upcoming Sequel) and Hell of High Water. If you enjoyed those films you should enjoy this one. Highly recommend it.

meh. It was like a jigsaw puzzle put together wrong. Great case. Interesting story lines. Put together in a way that makes you wonder what they were smoking. Some of the "twists" are absolutely unbelievable.

Loved Rake, btw. They may be coming out with a new series. Addled fuckers in OZ wrote to me and told me to keep checking back. Clearly the blood is rushing to their heads.

Started Sneaky Pete (again) seems better now.

Altered Carbon is pretty good. A little confusing at times, but I appreciate the fact that it does a good job thinking about the ramifications of the technology the show is built around (a future where people can download their consciousnesses onto small devices and upload them into new bodies). Plus it’s an interesting mystery with interesting characters (a AI hotel with an Edgar Allen Poe theme being my favorite)...though that last does not apply to the MAIN character, who is the same Squarejaw McPunchlots you have seen in a million other films and TV series. Enough interesting characters around him to make up for it though. That’s the worst I can say about it

Currently watching remastered TOS Trek episodes, my first real run-through since they were released.
Really my first real run-through period as all previous binge-watching was spotty and depended on what episodes I had on tape or were playing on a TV marathon. Though I've seen each episode at least a couple of times, some of them many times.

After that I'm doing "Star Trek Continues", which among fans seems to now be considered the unofficial Season 4--an honor not accorded any previous non canon work.

Your welcome

And you should see me watching The Blacklist. There is a character on there (Agent Ressler, in case you are familiar with the show) to whom I give a new nickname every 10 minutes or so

Brick Chestthump
Chuck Beefpec
Dirk Squarehair

etc.

I liked season 1 better than season 2. They were excited to be exploring.

My second go-through was better than my first, which I gave up on mid-season 3.

Season 4 was the bomb though

It is a shame, it is very well cast. Even has Lola who, sometimes, runs.

Mainly why I like the movie was the repetition gimmick, with some small elements carrying over allowing fun speculation. In general the editing was fantastic--timing of alternate events and consequences was very tightly done and successful, I think. The little side details that popped up were more interesting than the main story.

Of course, awesome soundtrack and watching cute redhead run all over the place didn't hurt.

Somewhere in the basement of a Netflix warehouse, a writer has been awake for eight days, being feed caffeine and LSD intravenously while strapped to a chair. A crack team of producers and directors record his every word and race to meet the deadlines. They are slated to produce 8000 Netflix Originals by the end of 2018.

Original....original....uh...uh......No-NO, don't shock me, I got this. So it's the future and there's this Amish guy that fell off motor boat and got his throat slashed but his family is Amish and doesn't believe in reconstructive surgery to fix his larynx so he's mute and becomes a bartender in a cyborg night club brothel and falls in love with a waitress whore only he's the only one who doesn't know she's a whore and everything is going great and she has blue hair and is beautiful and oh, the mute guy is an awesome artist and he's tall and can really kick some major ass even though he's Amish and the ANT MAN....we have money now so we can hire ANT MAN, right?.....sure we can....anyway the ANT MAN is this surgeon for the mafia and he has mutton chops and he's a murderous psychopath and he has a daughter so he's also a softy but he has a friend who's a child molester and the girlfriend disappears and UH-OH can you smell a plot? ANT MAN with mutton chops, that's important, and mute guy is now on a rampage and looking for the cute blue haired girl and ANT MAN is killing and his buddy is filming little girls and mute guy was a bartender and got fired, but somehow he's able to keep his artsy warehouse and carve shit and draw shit and mutton chops and ANT MAN and..............NEXT!!!

What???

We've already finished the movie.

What do you mean, I haven't written an ending yet. This is supposed to be a 5 season mini-series!

Nope. We needed the next Netflix Original movie by 5 pm. No need for an ending. We'll have the new special affects shock jocks we just hired slap something together. It'll be a hoot. Time to get to work on the next Netflix Original.

Right.......so it's the future, and people can pay money to have their souls transferred to another body, but it's a difficult and bureaucratic process and sometimes you end up in a body you don't really like and there are strings attached.......

Hey!! This time, make sure the new PR guys get ahead of the reviews on the internet. If we don't get at least 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, kill this guy and hire a new one. Come on, people, we still have 11 Billion to burn and 7980 more Netflix Originals to go!!

That wig was a terrible distraction. I couldn't get scared by the spooky music and flashes of disturbing images because I was too busy chuckling over the wig.

She didn't need the wig. Lovely actress without it. Director wanted a suicide blonde with bangs, I guess.

Thirded on Santa Clarita diet. Though I'd probably watch Drew Barrymore reciting shopping lists, this is a very fun show even on top of that.

Having finished Santa Clarita Diet (Season 3 will be very interesting if they pick up all the plot threads they left lying about at the end of season 2), I started the second season of Into the Badlands which juuuuuust came to Netflix.

Good show, post apocalyptic martial arts action. They picked up so directly from the end of season 1 that I had trouble remembering who was who and what was happening because I saw the end of season 1 over a year ago. Got back up to speed pretty quickly though, and am enjoying the show.

Been watching Father Brown. Not bad.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

I've been watching Black Lightning, but I don't think I would recommend it.

For a show about a superhero, there's not much action, and the action there is is pretty cheesy. Also too much hand-wringing and family drama. I'm probably going to give up on it.
