Frankly, I thought the best part of this season was Captain Pike. While I like Burnham, Saru, et al, if they wanted to let the DIscovery disapear into that wormhole and have the show change to The Captain Pike Show, I would be okay with that outcome

You might like episode 665 of Escape Pod, narrated by one Anson Mount.

Oh I think they know how much the fans would love that. They've had to be careful how much they feature the Enterprise. Kind of like letting Superman appear too often in a Supergirl show--it becomes in danger of turning into a Superman show anyway.

Did Gotham fall into that trap? Is it basically just "Young Batman" now?
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

It is always a Superman show.

Because Superman is a dick, after all.

Discovery Season 2: Somehow un-shit the bed of Season 1.

How did the same company behind S1 salvage the smoldering remains "yet another star trek fail" and produce one of the best trek shows of all time?

I'm kind of flabbergasted.

Captain Pike is now officially the Greatest Captain All Time.

He embodies what Starfleet represents.

I went back and watched "The Menagerie" after S2 was done.

They filled in a complete character arc and did it seriously. They deserve props.
