I guess he didn't notice that Angela Basset and Forest Whittaker were in the movie? I don't know if that brings it to the level of James Earl Jones, but definitely not "Junior Varsity", and surely they should have had mention in a comparison of star power.

Wait, he does mention him, as a participant in a movie he asserts is more entertaining, Last King of Scotland.

Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

What was he expecting, Morgan Freeman?

Besides, I thought the movie was well cast.

How many grandmas watch superhero flick? Or maybe when she went to the theatre, it was just a choice between that and '13 hours'?

The only implausible part is the claim she went to the movies with Bill and there were no press photographers around.

ABC News wrote:Black Panther too 'politically correct' for China as ticket sales dive in world's second-largest market

Black Panther opened at the top of China's box office last weekend, collecting an estimated $US62.8 million, but a lukewarm audience response has seen ticket sales dive in the days since. Many Chinese movie-goers have criticised the hit Marvel film — which has so far earned more than$US1 billion globally — for what they saw as its "political correctness".

Black Panther has a majority black cast and was widely praised by Western critics and members of the African diaspora worldwide for its empowering characters.

In contrast, the film currently has a rating of 6.7 out of 10 on the Chinese movie reviewing platform Douban, and a rating of 7.1 out of 10 on fellow review site MTime

### Re: Black Panther

Is it "political correctness" or is that just a gloss by an ABC writer with his head up his ass?

My analysis: Chinese think black people are ugly.

Heh, it usually seems that you heart about the other way around. A movie tanks in the US, but is saved by big oversees box office.

2. Wouldn't be surprised if they thought that anybody non-Han is ugly. (Not that I give a fuck, of course. On the other hand, Chinese ladies can be… can be… )

Lukewarm Chinese reception notwithstanding, it seems to be a major blockbuster anyway. One month in it's ahead of the most recent Star Wars film or the Avengers. It's also topped the box office for 5 weekends.

### Re: Black Panther

Analysis: It's a superhero movie with special effects. How could it lose?

I mentioned it before, but now I'm 100% convinced the SJW angle is merely a publicity stunt for the US market. Social media trolling is now a tool of the publicity biz.

If you want to use Fourchannish jargon call it a successful "forced meme".
