Title: The Hero of Sukhbataar

Widow

Post by ed » Sat Mar 23, 2019 10:02 am

Chick looses her husband in an air crash in the Congo. 3 Years later evidence surfaces that he IS ALIVE!!!!
Zombies? Derivative drama? Film school project?
You decide.

I give this like 1 star.

God in a Machine is not just a phrase. It lives.
Spoiler:
Thing is that the husband was NEVER ON THE PLANE!!!
Right.
The motivation of the characters is bizarre. The husband, after realizing that he escaped death is too shook up to call his wife. FOR THREE YEARS!!! Then one conversation is enough to make him go public with what he knows about the conspiracy which involves a general in the congolese airforce (!) and some sort of mining. I could never figure out what the fuck they are mining except the mine looks like what you would expect in an african shithole. Wet red clay and kids digging with sticks.

Why would anyone ever go to africa? Jeebus. Rwanda and the Congo. A daily double of shitholeness.

They pulled the ending out of their asses. Made up bullshit that didn't even pretend to be credible.

Just sad, they clearly spent a lot on this thing but the story was horrid. Horrid and stupid.

Why would anyone ever go to Africa?
To make money, Old Boy.

Rhodes should have been hanged upside down from his balls, with his head dipping into a piranha-infested river.

Wasn't suggesting you were wrong. Merely a comment about one of the worst scumbags ever.

The same observations may be made about the Babar books.

That's a series of children's books set in the Belgian Congo.

That's why I didn't say Rhodes was the worst, only one of the worst.

To be fair, his name was Cecil. You’d probably feel driven to do some crazy stuff in order to get taken seriously if you were named that.

He’s lucky they named the country Rhodesia and not Cecilia, Cecilannia, Cecilphalia?
