I happened upon:
The Battle of Midway 1942: Told from the Japanese Perspective (1/2)
I've seen that battle from many perspectives: books, movies, lectures, etc. But I've never seen it from the Japanese perspective, from which, they could not lose. It will be yours as well when you see it from their perspective. The days up to, and the mere hours thereof make it clear they were going to win that battle and--naively they thought--the war; we would surely surrender after such a defeat. Of course, even were that battle lost by us, we would not, but that is beside the point. Their victory was really almost certain up to the last decisive five minutes of the battle.
It's a 40-minute video but if you can suffer just 10 minutes of that I'm sure you'll find time for the other 30. There's a part 2 to this that is yet to be published. I'm looking forward to it.

OK Rob. In spite of your repeated abuse of my good nature I am going to take your word that this is worth my time. I feel a bit like Charlie Brown.

Well done overall.
They took a very messy event and made it clear.
They did not, however, show the denumont. That disappointed a bit.
Rob did good.

The bitch of is that had the Battle of Coral Sea never happened the Japanese would have had six carriers instead of four and would certainly have taken Midway Island. He has that video as well and it shows that the US and Japan both had their heads up their collective asses. Both sides lost two carriers (one sunk each, one out of service each).

I wonder if massing their carriers like that was a good idea or if they should have been spread out more.

Carleton Heston should have let the girl marry his son.

Midway Island today.

Not much more than a Navy Bingo. But not less either.
