Sargon has no less than five videos on the subject. Didn't watch them all, not posting any here.

Here's one from PJ Watson which is not too long and bearable to watch (he did two).
A good representative of the genre.

I only just now watched this. I find it fucking hilarious that a dyed in the wool Trump supporter like PJ Watson, someone who does nothing but hurl vitriol at people he hates, spent the last minute or so of the movie decrying the breakdown of civility in modern culture. Mote, beam, eye, etc. It's like me going on a rant about people being too fat and cynical.

Finally saw it. I will say one thing.

They got the look and feel of NYC in the 1970s down perfect. An hideous piece of anti-nostalgia at least for me.

It was very true to life, except for the details of the story.

It's high on my list of movies I'll never watch.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

I saw it either on Netflix or Amazon Prime a while ago. Don't remember which one.

Maybe the best part was the song they played over the ending credits.

Not a bad choice. Although they used the Jimmy Durante cover, not Nat King Cole.

Amazon Prime.

It's obviously fictional Gotham City not really NYC from that aerial shot of that el going straight into downtown (which must be CGI or something), so the geographical inconsistencies of the real location shots are nothing.

But it's still NYC 1970s. Very depressing.

Joker was based on Bernie Goetz

The writer said so

But for woke reasons the gang that beat him in the street was made non black, just as the subway thugs were made white

Nobody dares make an accurate subway vigilante film

Totally NOT like Bernie Goetz.

Totally comic-book plausible origin story.
