Russian Doll

Russian Doll

Netflix, new.

Even if it isn't your exact thing, I don't think you can be disappointed. It is well written, well made and very-well acted. Even ed might like it. High hopes, yo!

It casts nobody you much know. Lead is Natasha Lyonne, whom you probably won't remember as the dike burying her face in the crotches of a multitude of other dikes in Orange is the New Black. She's not a dike in this, not that there's anything wrong with being a dike ... just sayin' ... so, no offense, ed.

At first trailer glimpse, I thought it was just a rehash of Groundhog Day (ah la Bill Murrary, Andie MacDowell). And it was a tiny bit at first but with an utterly different take throughout.

It goes from odd and funny to very fucking disturbing in an odd progression.

This is an eight-episode series, thirty minutes each. So a short four-hour binge. And you will!

Good luck!

Started it. Thought "Groundhog Day". You say "No" and I trust you Rob, in spite of everything.

We shall see.

Enjoyed it. Lead chick is very good. It wobbled a bit after the introduction of the (obligatory) black dude but recovered. Certainly worth a peek.

Rob: you are on the road to redemption.
