Let's say there were no arrests involved. If you see a video of one of your officers committing an offense that the organization's own rules consider fireable, are there no such offenses that allow for immediate termination? Like, if he were on video robbing from the evidence locker and handing stuff out to his friends outside.

I know this is kind of a fine point but due process is still ... due. Let's suppose the guy didn't die but instead was typically arrested ( or not, or whatever) and filed a police brutality complaint using that video as evidence. I don't think the police would fire him, or even discipline him, given that evidence. Matter of fact, I can't see what the other half of the guy doing either. It seems to me (and maybe I'm mistaken) that tactic is used all the time in shows such as Cops and whatnot.

I'm not defending the guy but I am defending the guys right to a defense.

Let’s start with who Carsyn Leigh Davis was and the life that she was grateful to live.

She was a high schooler at Cypress Lake High in Lee County, where she loved photography and bowling.

Her mother, Carole Brunton Davis, told the Fort Myers News-Press:

“Davis, understanding what it is like to have special needs, served as an aide to the special needs classroom and volunteered for Special Olympics and the Be A Buddy Program, Brunton Davis said.”

She had survived cancer, her mom reported, and was a caring and giving person. She was known for her huge heart and good nature, despite all of her health problems. She had nearly died as a child, but developed a strength and love of life that made everyone around her smile.

So then why in God’s name did her mother take her to a “COVID Party” at their church on June 10 to intentionally expose her immuno-compromised daughter to this virus?

On June 10, Carysn’s mom, Carole, took Carsyn, a 16-year-old girl who was immuno-compromised with a history of health issues (including cancer), to a “COVID party” at her church, where more than 100 children without masks were in attendance.

Her mom, who is not a doctor, then prescribed her daughter azithromycin, an anti-bacterial drug with no known benefits for fighting COVID-19, for several days. During that “treatment period,” Carsyn developed headaches, sinus pressure and a cough.

A few days later, without taking her to a doctor, her mother would later report that her daughter “looked gray” on June 19, so she put Carsyn on her grandfather’s oxygen machine.

Oh, and

Her mom has managed to raise about $25,000 through various fundraisers, having set a $55,000 goal to cover expenses for her “Celebration of Life” for which a date has yet to be set.

The New Jersey Shooting Suspect Left a Pro-Trump Paper Trail

Roy Den Hollander, the self-described “anti-feminist” attorney who authorities say is the chief suspect in the shootings of the son and the husband of a federal judge in New Jersey, attacked that judge by name in misogynistic, racist writings he wrote over a period of years and posted in bulk on the Internet Archive. Den Hollander, who describes himself as a Trump volunteer in his writings, called the judge an “affirmative action” case who affiliated with those who wanted “to convince America that whites, especially white males, were barbarians, and all those of a darker skin complexion were victims.”

Esther Salas’s 20-year-old son was killed in the attack at their home on Sunday, and her husband was wounded. Den Hollander was later found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Rockland, New York. Den Hollander’s insults toward Salas were included in a 2,028-page collection of writings he posted online in 2019 under the username Roy17den, a handle that mirrored his Twitter account, @roy17den, and the email address he used both in personal letters and in court filings.

“Female judges didn’t bother me as long as they were middle age or older black ladies,” he writes when discussing a lawsuit he filed that went before Judge Salas, the first Hispanic woman appointed a federal judge in New Jersey. “They seemed to have an understanding of how life worked and were not about to be conned by any foot dragging lawyer. Latinas, however, were usually a problem—driven by an inferiority complex.”

Den Hollander, who was 72, held deeply misogynistic beliefs about women and filed a series of lawsuits against what he considered unfair advantages they had over men. One of those suits, in which he argued that it was unconstitutional for women not to be subject to military draft, reached Salas’s court in 2019. Salas did not throw out the suit, as many of Den Hollander’s previous cases had been. She instead allowed the lawsuit to proceed through the court system. But Den Hollander was upset by what he considered to be Salas’s delaying of the case. He complained that she allowed the Department of Justice to file its fourth motion to dismiss the case, suggesting she was “trying to keep this case in her court until a weatherman showed her which way the legal winds were blowing.”

Murder of men's rights activist linked to suspected shooter of federal judge's family, FBI confirms

(CNN)Authorities have evidence linking Roy Den Hollander, the men's rights attorney suspected of shooting a federal judge's family on Sunday, to the murder of another men's rights activist in California last week, FBI Newark spokeswoman Doreen Holder confirmed.

"As the FBI continues the investigation into the attack at the home of US District Court Judge Esther Salas (District of New Jersey), we are now engaged with the San Bernardino California Sheriff's Office and have evidence linking the murder of Marc Angelucci to FBI Newark subject Roy Den Hollander," she said in an email to CNN.
Altogether, the FBI connection suggests that Den Hollander allegedly killed a perceived rival, attacked the family of a perceived judicial enemy and then killed himself.
Den Hollander had a list of possible targets that included several judges, two law enforcement sources told CNN.

On July 11, Angelucci, the 52-year-old vice president of the National Coalition for Men (NCFM), was found unresponsive and with apparent gunshot wounds just after 4 p.m. in Cedarpines Park, a community in southern California, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
Angelucci was pronounced dead at the scene. The NCFM said he was shot and killed in front of his home.
The suspect in Angelucci's killing on July 11 was believed to be wearing a FedEx uniform, a source told CNN. Den Hollander appears to have worn a FedEx uniform in the New Jersey shooting of the judge's family, which killed her 20-year-old son and injured her husband, CNN has reported.

Paul Elam, a friend of Angelucci and fellow men's rights activist, said he believes Den Hollander harbored a grudge against Angelucci for years because they both represented cases contesting the male-only selective service registration.
Harry Crouch, president of the NCFM, said Den Hollander was furious that he had not been involved in the group's lawsuit against the Selective Service System in California.
He told CNN he kicked Den Hollander out of the group after he called and threatened him around December 2015.
"(Den Hollander) was upset that it wasn't his case, primarily," Crouch told CNN on the phone. "He was very upset and threatened to come to California and kick my ass."

He had terminal cancer and decided to settle some scores before killing himself.

A German Muslim convert who joined the Islamic State group in Iraq has been jailed for 10 years in Munich over the killing of a Yazidi girl she and her husband had bought as a slave.

Jennifer Wenisch was judged to have committed a crime against humanity, having stood by when her husband left the five-year-old to die of thirst, chained outside in the blazing sun.

Wenisch's husband, an Iraqi jihadist, is on trial in Frankfurt.

The girl died in Fallujah in 2015.

Wenisch, 30, denied the charge. Her lawyers said the child's mother Nora was an unreliable witness, and they alleged there was no evidence the girl had actually died. Nora and the girl had been enslaved by IS, along with many other Yazidi.

The verdict on the husband, Taha al-Jumailly, is expected next month.

It is one of the first cases of an IS crime against the Yazidi community going to trial. The Yazidi, a Kurdish group from northern Iraq, were a particular target of IS brutality.

The court found Wenisch guilty of belonging to a foreign terrorist organisation, and of assisting attempted murder, an attempted war crime and a crime against humanity.

As a member of IS, it ruled, she supported the "destruction of the Yazidi religion" and "enslavement of the Yazidi people".

The judges said she had also threatened to shoot the Yazidi girl if she did not stop crying.

Court spokesman Florian Gliwitzky said: "The court handed down a sentence of nine years for the death of the child resulting from slavery, which it viewed as a crime against humanity, and two years and six months for membership of a terror group. This was made into a total sentence of 10 years."

Wenisch stood trial in Germany because of the legal principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows prosecutions for alleged war crimes, including genocide, occurring overseas. She was arrested in Turkey in 2016, then extradited to Germany, AFP news agency reports.

Wenisch allegedly served in an IS "anti-vice squad" which enforced strict Islamic rules in Mosul and Fallujah.

London-based human rights lawyer Amal Clooney was part of the legal team representing the girl's mother.

In 2014 IS fighters stormed into the ancestral heartland of the Yazidi people in northern Iraq, seizing thousands of women and children as slaves.

A hospital worker has admitted murdering two women in 1987, and sexually abusing at least 100 female corpses, including children.

On the fourth day of his murder trial at Maidstone Crown Court, Fuller changed his plea to guilty. (Was he holding out for a "deal"?)
He previously admitted sexually abusing bodies in two Kent hospital morgues over 12 years.
Fuller had earlier admitted to killing the women subject to "diminished responsibility", but denied murder.
Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb directed the jury to find him guilty on both counts of murder, after he was rearraigned.
Home Secretary Prissy Patel said: "This is a shocking case. The sickening nature of the crimes committed will understandably cause public revulsion and concern.

"I would also like... to remember Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce, two young women who had their lives brutally taken away from them over 30 years ago. I hope their families can find some solace in seeing justice finally done."

Fuller previously admitted sexually abusing bodies in two Kent hospital morgues over 12 years.
Ahead of the trial he had pleaded guilty to 51 offences, including 44 charges relating to 78 identified victims in the two mortuaries where he worked as an electrician.
Ms Knell's family said in a statement that "it's good knowing he will not be in a position to hurt or cause any more pain".
A date for sentencing has yet to be set.

Investigators said the case came together following recent advances in DNA testing - and a huge police operation costing £2.5m - which linked Fuller to the double killings, dubbed "the Bedsit Murders".
His saliva and other DNA was found on Ms Knell's bedding, towel and intimate samples.
His semen was also found on Ms Pierce's tights, the only item of clothing she was wearing when her body was found in a water-filled dyke three weeks after her abduction.

Following his arrest for the murders, a search of Fuller's home revealed he had hoarded millions of indecent images and videos of children and extreme pornography on hard drives, floppy discs, DVDs and memory cards in his loft and spare room.
Two of the drives were hidden in a box, which was screwed to the back of a chest of drawers and placed inside a wardrobe. On these drives officers found footage Fuller had recorded of himself abusing corpses in the morgues.

Folders, some labelled with the names of the victims, contained images and videos of him molesting female bodies, including three children, between 2008 and November 2020.

Police have been unable to identify 20 of the victims.
Det Ch Supt Paul Fotheringham: "Sadly, it is likely to be the case that some of the victims will never be identified.
"In these cases there is such limited information available to help us with establishing their identities, and there are no lines of enquiry outside of the investigation that can assist us."
Fuller worked in electrical maintenance at hospitals since 1989 and was at the Kent and Sussex Hospital, until it closed in September 2011
He was transferred to the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, where the offences continued until his arrest.
I.nvestigators said Fuller would work late shifts and go into the morgue when other staff had left, often "visiting the same bodies repeatedly".
