Open-top. I wondered if it was totally AI + radar (while the, of course male, owner sips champagne lounging with scantily clad ladies in complete privacy).
But better use mirror-smooth roads with the tires larger than the guards.

If we're allowed to stick with things, then I'll stick with my 1983 DeLorean, which I bought new at Shepard Chevrolet (an official DeLorean dealer) in Chicagoland:

I have a great appreciation for designers who think outside the box. The usefulness of what they come up with is a topic for a different conversation, but that doesn't mean I can't also appreciate the original creativity.

Fuck off, Abdul.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 9:24 am Yeah sure.
Great for "Back to the Future" cosplay.
Didn't know you were a LARPer.
I bought it long before the movie came out.
For the record, I'm not a larper.
Sheesh. :x
Unlike you, I don't fantasize about skydiving (or other adventures), I've actually done it. Many times.

Sorry, but you don't "got it" at all.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 12:39 pm So you bought that overpriced sucky car for no reason at all.
Got it.
1. I can speak from first-hand experience (and 60,000 miles of driving) that the DeLorean DMC-12 does not suck.
2. It was not over priced. I paid less than $20,000. New.
3. You have absolutely no knowledge about my reasons for buying it.
Why are you embarrassing yourself like this? What point are you trying to make? And why are you trying to disparage me personally in the process? Did someone piss in your cornflakes and I just happened to be the nearest target for your wrath?
Seriously, why are you doing this to me?

Wrong again, dipshit.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 2:24 pm So you didn't know that used car salesman slang for one of those is "Snow Mobile".
I'd heard all the cocaine jokes before I bought it. And then again over and over and over ad nauseum after.
Wrong again, dipshit.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 2:24 pmOK I'll guess again. To get laid. You have absolutely no knowledge about my reasons for buying it.
You're like 0 for 6 so far.

Wrong again, dipshit. Yer now 0 for 7.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 5:12 pm Jay-Zee had them built in Northern Ireland because he wanted an all white workforce at third world prices.
It was built in Northern Ireland because that government (Industrial Development Board for Northern Ireland) offered him a yuuuge amount of money.
That is just soooo wrong. :roll:Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 5:12 pm Mad Max LARPing is where it's at :lmao:

That's a horrible thing to do to a DeLorean.
Almost as bad as making it into a hovercraft:

Or this monstrosity:

And if you need to carry more than one golf bag in the trunk, tow another trunk:

Nothing wrong with that car. I know people who have one and I don't ridicule them for it.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 12:07 pm I can't imagine being that touchy about my choice of car, but the I've got a VW New Beetle.
I shouldn't need to say this, but apparently it needs saying: It's not my choice of car I'm touchy about. I'm touchy about the gratuitous attacks on my character, as you did several times. Dipshit.
For several years, my only car was a DeLorean. It was my daily driver all over Chicagoland in the 1980s. Even in the winter. And no, I did not have special "snow" tires.Abdul Alhazred wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 12:07 pm So, xoup Old Boy. Do you have another car, or do you go around making dramatic entrances in the De Lorean and having to deal with Back To the Future allusions from passers-by?
And no, people did not give me shit about it. Unlike you, the people who said anything at all to me about the car were usually quite respectful.
Seriously, do you go up to people on the street and bad mouth them about their choice of car?

Well, that's a shame. I never owned one but I thought it about many times.https://www.businessinsider.com/volkswagen-vw-beetle-discontinued-2018-9 wrote:
Volkswagen is discontinuing the iconic Beetle after 80 years on the market
Volkswagen announced it will stop worldwide production of the iconic Beetle by summer 2019. The move comes as the auto market continues its march toward SUVs and crossover vehicles.
. . . Independent auto analyst John Wolkonowicz told the Los Angeles Times the current-generation Beetles mostly appealed to middle-aged women.
I also thought it might be fun to retrofit a 1968 body onto the current model and then watch the mechanic's face when he goes to check the engine in the rear.
:o
A lot of interesting custom Beetles have been built over the years.

I'll make one tonight with some fine examples of sailing vessels. With real wood too, not this plastic shit they're building today!!

Oh we use to dream of living in a vase! Would've been a castle to us!
We had to live in a plastic thimble in the bottom of a recycling bin!

Six-pack == a manifold with three two-barrel carburetors. When idling it only used one of them, but all three would open up for acceleration.
Sounded just like a toilet flushing under the hood. 8)
