Tools for Fools
This thread is about all things tools.
Let me pump some schmoo on you.
Automagic schmoo squirter.
You'll have to exsqueeze AvE. He's Canudian.
Milwaukee used to be a top-end tool company but I'm seeing a lot of negativity about them lately.
This tool in particular is a big fucking $250 fail, top to bottom, inside an out.
As far as grease guns go in general: I suppose if you're the low-guy on the totem pole in the maintenance shop for a huge fleet of grease-hungry machinery and you have to grease a hundred fittings a day, every day, a powered grease gun might come in handy. But otherwise, a well-built $30 hand pump is dandy enough.

If you do work around the house go buy one.

I love this channel. This guy is one hell of a carpenter. He specializes in post frame construction. He'll get a 40x60x30' building to within a half inch of square. He does it with one helper.
Here he reviews a tool I very much want but have zero use for.

I did a few grease jobs back when I was an airframer in the Navy. More of a pain in the ass than you might imagine.

This tool is the most terrifyingly fun, physically uncomfortable, exhausting to use provider of views that truly qualify for the word "awesome."
As for fools, they didn't last long.

Re: Tools for Fools
Back to the original tool, the Milwalkee Grease Gun. Here, AvE shows the nasty side of this dangerously Greasy Gun
If you've never been through a hydraulic safety class, this is the one to watch. It might be the best ever presented anywhere. And lots of profanity too.
Enjoy. The baby chicks may or may not get greased.

Re: Tools for Fools
Among the tools I got from my Dad some years ago, is this hand-held vise tool. I haven't tried it but it should be excellent for cracking nuts.

Also have one of these. Used it on a pair of dull WISS scissors I also got from Dad's tool chest. Worked a treat.

I've never been able to confirm it but I suspect he did time in the Mansfield Reformatory.

Re: Tools for Fools
Oh, look a bunch of moving parts to break if you yank too hard on something stubborn.
I'm making shit up for fun though, I've no idea if that is a serious concern.

There's no way that thing can put the proper torque on that lawn mower blade bolt. Looks like those pliers come in different sizes?

Here's one of Dad's shivs that he used to make out of heavy-duty metal saw blades. Razor sharp!

Among many tools inherited from my grandfather, a brass Max Sievert blowlamp, "For Benzoline." Still works.
