Because it is not a boring subject.

A warehouse along the Savannah River is holding historical treasures that evidence suggests remained lost for more than 240 years — a cache of 19 cannons that researchers suspect came from British ships scuttled to the river bottom during the American Revolution.

The mud- and rust-encrusted guns were discovered by accident. A dredge scooping sediment from the riverbed last year as part of a $973 million deepening of Savannah’s busy shipping channel surfaced with one the cannons clasped in its metal jaws. The crew soon dug up two more.

Cool stuff. I recall that they did a similar thing with the cannon from the Monitor
https://celebrating200years.noaa.gov/mo ... nnons.html

The thing that is minimum acceptable evidence of these being Brit will be the broad arrow:

on the trunnion face.

The broad arrow is on every government issued everything, swords, guns, cannon balls,

Prison garb.

Thanks for sharing. I'd like to go steal one.

The img tag problem is a security issue. The img tag will not process links that are not https.

Having said that, it works on other phpBB forums, so I'm wrong as usual.

Okay so what happens is that Chrome and other web browser will not load mixed-security content, meaning that when a site like this loads under https, remote content such as images will not load if set for http. Some websites use methods to load such content but this site doesn't use such methods.
