And yes, it occurs to me that the whole hornpipe thing is pretty darn gay. Look at the name:
Horn
Pipe
that would even embarrass old Abdul.

And the hopping? Don't get me started.

Never really thought about it before.

I can see it now:

When: 8 months since land was last sighted
Where: To hell and gone, Pacific Ocean

Sailor 1: Say there matey, would you like to hornpipe with me?
Soley: Damn right. I thought you'd never ask.
